Travelzoo's Loughlin to become CEO in 2010

Travelzoo Inc. said Monday that CEO Holger Bartel will become its chairman on July 1, 2010, as part of a succession plan that includes the promotion of Christopher Loughlin to CEO.

Bartel takes over as chairman from founder and brother Ralph Bartel, who will remain as a board member for the Internet media company that runs travel-related Web sites.

Loughlin, 36, currently serves as executive vice president of Europe. He has been with the company since 2001, and will transfer from London to Travelzoo's New York headquarters when he assumes the CEO position next year.

The company's shares rose 3 cents to $14.43 in morning trading.
